A chance to play the mighty 1930s Christie pipe organ is now being offered to all those who’d love to tap those keys and press those pedals. Responding to interest, The Curzon Clevedon will provide an experienced organist to enable organ enthusiasts to perform privately, or with friends, on selected Sunday mornings.
Restored two years ago, the Christie is a distinct type of pipe organ originally developed to provide music and sound effects to accompany silent films. It is suitably housed in the magnificent crimson and gold auditorium of the oldest continuously-running cinema in the world, The Curzon Clevedon, Cinema & Arts, near Bristol.
The cinema hopes to build its restoration fund with £20 donations from those who would like to have a go. To book a 30 minute slot contact the Curzon Cinema on 01275 871000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
