Hiello I am delighted to announce that that we plan to restart concerts commencing with those already booked for January 2021, continuing with those postponed form this year 2020
Whilst 2020 was a celebration of 'The Mayflower' crossing to America in 1620, Plymouth City council have plans to re-kindle mjuch of what was to happen this year...........but we all know that the pandemic didn't behave, despite scientiists across the world searching for a glimmer of hope to appear as a start to tame this horrible disease.
Well this week we have actually heard that there seems to be some possitive news at last! The pharmacy industry is producing millions of preventative treatments for worldwide use in order to restore some sort of normality, and of course we all hope that they are successful.
Of course everything will not be allright right away, but everyone that I speak with shares the wish that we are able to pick-up as much as we can from where it all suddenly ended, it will be uphill however using the well worn saying no gain wiithout pain.
Of course stateting the obvious our membership consists of the senior age group and some will have deep concerns, we hope that we can get the word around that 'we are back' And with the promised help from the media and some good luck the last awful times will become history..
UPDATE 2nd March 2021.... In a light hearted way I think that for clubs like ours what we need to restart activities is, D.J's ...no no not someone playing records, but DOUBLE JABBERS!. Because most of our members will have received their 2nd Jab so that the nasty virus will have been tamed, there will of course be some small adjustments, but, we are 'planting seeds'. The goverment are very keenly supporting cultural organisations. Keep a look out, for positive news probably in the Autumn.
