WELCOME to Verwood and District Organ Society
The Verwood and District Organ Society was formed in 1994 after a handful of enthusiasts personally paid for the hire of a room in the village hall to see if there would be enough support.

Around 60 people attended and a committee was formed from volunteers to create the Society.  John Bartlett was elected as Chairman with many of the original volunteers still serving on the Committee.  The name of the Society was changed at the AGM in 2001 to Verwood Organ & Keyboard Society.

We pride ourselves on being a 'Happy Society' that draws it's strength by working together as a friendly Committee - a point that has been noted and commented upon many times by visiting artistes.

We grew at a rate that surprised us; there are five Societies within 15 miles of each other.  Good working relationships are encouraged by maintaining a dialogue between the Artistes' Secretaries, exchanging programmes and booking information of artistes.

Currently we have a full membership of 200 with an average of 30/40 'members in waiting'.  The 200 limit is due to the fire regulations in our present venue.
