The St. Helens Organ Society, which was formed in 1989, consists of good-natured people who all have three things in common:-
The St. Helens Organ Society is just one of many similar societies throughout the country which bring to its audience a monthly concert of delightful music which truly reflects the outstanding versatility of the modern electronic organ. The state of the art technology, which has gone into the design of these amazing instruments, can now reproduce instrumental and orchestral sounds that are so near to perfect that you could be forgiven for thinking you are hearing the real thing. Mantovani Strings, the Big Band sound, Viennese Waltzes, the rhythm of Latin America, Military Marching Bands, Classical Overtures and beautiful Choral Works are all part of the programme, not to mention the sing-along melodies which are such evergreen favourites that they are certain to get your foot tapping. All of this music is regularly featured in the repertoire of the talented and professional artistes who come to St. Helens each month to meet and entertain us. Indeed, many of our concerts are performed by musicians who regularly broadcast on the radio and who also play the mighty Wurlitzer Organ at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. So if you would like an evening which is a little different, and think that one of our concerts is something you would enjoy, then why not come along on any second Tuesday of the month and share with us a little of the pleasure and fun. . |

The fact that you are reading this message obviously means that you are interested in the electronic organ, and associated keyboard instruments. Perhaps you have played the piano and want to pick up again with the added interest of orchestral sounds and rhythms. Whatever the reason, you will find a lot to enjoy and interest you at one of our concerts, and - don't forget - you do not have to be a member to come along, although our members do have the benefit of a much reduced door charge. So, if you have been browsing through our website and live within reasonable distance of St. Helens, then why not pay us a visit? We look forward to seeing you soon, and in particular to hearing that you have enjoyed the evening so much that you will want to come back again and again. . |
