Aerial view of our location

Cookhill is a small, quiet and beautiful village on the border of Worcestershire and Warwickshire on the A441 Redditch to Evesham road, about 12 miles from Stratford on Avon, 8 miles from Evesham, 5 miles from Redditch and 3 miles from Alcester.  Local visitor attractions, in addition to Stratford on Avon with its Royal Shakespeare Theatre, include Ragley Hall and Coughton Court.

The Cookhill Keyboard Club, formed in 1994 due largely to the foresight, initiative and enthusiasm of one man, Ernest Huggins, is quite unlike most organ and keyboard societies in that it does not run a monthly programme of concerts by touring professional organists.  Rather, the Club is a forum for anyone interested in keyboard or organ music whether as a player or a listener.  it is very much a 'hands-on' club, giving all members the opportunity to play whether they are advanced players and confident or beginners and more diffident.

There are lessons for first-time learners and the Musical Directorate organises opportunities for intermediate and more advanced ensembles.  At each meeting, time is reserved for more able players to entertain and a short concert at the end of the evening by one of the members or an external guest provides a fitting climax to an excellent social and musical evening.

Our founder - Ernest Huggins

It is with great regret that the Club reports the passing of its Founder Ernie Huggins on Saturday 6th August 2005 after a long illness.  He will be sadly missed. The Annual Celebrity Concert will now become "The Ernie Huggins Memorial Concert" in his honour.
