Ian Griffin and Richard Bower as Keyklix duo

Ian Griffin met Richard Bower at a keyboard festival in 1985 when they sat at two different electronic organs and played a duet.  Suddenly they realised that they had the ability almost to read each others mind - in a musical way.

In 1987 the duo made their first cassette album Introducing Keyklix and in 1989 broadcast on the BBC Radio 2 The Organist Entertains from a 'live' concert at a national organ festival.

The name "Keyklix" was derived from the term 'keyclick' given to the characteristic sound of the early tonewheel Hammond organs.  In later versions of Hammond organs there was even a tab named "keyclick" to capture the old original sound.

Friends

Ian and Richard's keyboard skill has certainly "clicked" together and they have become Britain's most entertaining duo.

Ian and Richard, both around the same age, look on each other as brothers they never had. The remarkable thing is that they never practice together as they live hundreds of miles apart

Over to you, Ian!
