About Gary

Gary started playing the piano when his mum taught him at 8 years old.  His passion for organs and now keyboards started back in 1979, when he was asked to demonstrate for Allarth’s music in Poole at exhibitions and shopping centres.

He was busy demonstrating at what was the Hampshire Centre in Bournemouth when a music shop called BB music opened in the centre and he was asked to join them full time, selling Baldwin piano's and organs.  Gary took this opportunity ,as the Baldwin demonstrators at the time were Howard Beaumont and Peter Hayward, so he was able to learn a lot from them.

He then gained further experience working for Eddie Moors Music, and this is where he was introduced to Technics and Yamaha organs.

It wasn't long before he was being asked to play for local organ societies, when there used to be an abundance of them in the Bournemouth area, playing for Wimborne Organ Society, Music Makers at the Barrington Theatre, as well as Ferndown, Ringwood, Lilliput and Fareham societies.

Gary kept up his passion and enthusiasm for playing over the years, but it wasn't until recently, when he took up early retirement from his “proper job” as he called it, and restarted to get involved again playing in local Bournemouth hotels and venues.

Gary is now Chairman of the popular Milford Keyboard Club (formerly known as the New Forest Organ Society) and is heavily involved in the day to day liaison with artistes and loves teaching people to get the best out of their Yamaha keyboards.

Gary plays a variety of music on the new Yamaha flagship keyboard, "Genos2" at all concert venues.
