What a wonderful time was had by everyone who came to the John Mann Appreciation Society 30th anniversary convention inSeptember. We had a variety of events over three days in Eastbourne including concerts given by John on his Eminent 2000 Grand Theatre organ, grand piano, and the Compton/ Christie pipe organ in Portslade Town Hall.
The main event was the gala dinner followed by dancing and a programme of entertainment with five different performers with a grande finale of Amazing Grace with John on the piano, Jonathan Adams on accordion, Michael McCree on bagpipes, Bob Eagle singing, and Sarah Bryant on the organ. The applause was long and loud, and the whole convention finished with everyone giving John a standing ovation.
The JMAS has hundreds of members all over the country and abroad, and membership costs just £5 per household for a year. We produce a magazine four times a year which contains a personal message from John, letters from members, photos and news items. For more information, or to join, please contact Sarah Bryant, JMAS secretary, by email.
John is now looking forward to his Christmas shows, with special guest Iain Flitcroft joining him on stage.
