The organ and keyboard world has suffered a tragic loss today with the passing of Chiho Sunamoto after an inspirational fight with a long illness. Despite the health issues she continued to deliver first class performances along with her devoted husband. Jon; our love, thoughts and prayers go out to you and all your family. Thank you for the music and the memories Chiho - RIP. Your memory will live on forever.
During my travels to various organ clubs and festivals, I have been approached by members of the audience saying “ we didn’t know you had retired Howard “ This was very disconcerting to me as I hadn’t announced that fact to anyone. I think the misunderstanding has come about because I have stated that I won’t be providing an organ to club concerts because it is physically too demanding on a person of my age.

Kirklees Council's Borough Organist, Dr Gordon Stewart, returned to the console of the Father Willis Organ on Monday 10th September to get the 2018/19 Lunchtime Concert Season underway at Huddersfield Town Hall. Gordon has been the Borough Organist for over 25 years and he delighted friends old and new in the audience playing a wonderfully varied programme which included music by Rawsthorne, Bach, Mendelssohn, Vierne and Bossi.
