The Oktoberfest Organ & Keyboard Festival strives every year for a unique musical artist line up,
and 2018 promises to be the most exciting yet with Max Takano making his only European appearance at the festival.

Max will headline on the main stage on the Saturday night and the Sunday afternoon of the festival.

Appearing alongside Max Takano at the festival is Franz Lambert (Only UK Appearance), Brett Wales, DirkJan Ranzijn, Alex Payler, Bernd Wurzenrainer (Only UK appearance) Florian Hutter (YouTube star) and Ben Scott-Hyde.

The BBC has announced that the long running Radio 2 programme ‘The Organist Entertains’ will cease transmission in May this year after 50 years of broadcasts.  The BBC have called the ‘resting’ of it along with other favourites such as ‘Listen To The Band’ as part of a ‘generational shake up’....

The popular magazine 'Yours', aimed at the over 50's, have recently been in touch with us here at OrganFax with a view to featuring an article on taking up playing the organ/keyboard as a hobby later in life.  

They were orginally approached by Terry Trevett of the Weyhill Electronic Organ Society who believed that 'our kind of music', would make an interesting read. The forthcoming concert on 20th January 2018 with Phil Kelsall at the East Sussex National has had to be moved.  Phil will now be appearing at SInging Hills Golf club instead at 3pm.

Well worth a visit so amend your diaries of the change.

Horsham Organ Society closing statement

Horsham Organ Society was formed in 1978 by Ian Wollen and Mike Randon and it is with regret that we now have to confirm that the Society (now called Horsham Organ/Keyboard Society) is to close down in January 2018 – exactly 40 years on.

Like many other clubs our numbers have dwindled over the last few years and we now find that with no youngsters to help, the Committee has reluctantly decided we must close.

I have the busiest year ever ahead in 2018 since I turned pro way back in 1984. 35 Organ/ Clubs/ Festival appearances plus many more than that number performing with my very successful Hammond Organ band "The Drawtones".

I just wanted to make everybody in the Organ and Keyboard world aware that I am very much on the circuit and despite rumours have never ever totally given up the circuit.
