To date Tom Horton (ALCM) enjoys a very varied musical career. Over the years has gained a wealth of experience in many areas of the music industry. Tom is well known around the UK in the organ & keyboard world but his work expands into many other musical areas too.
Tom has performed concerts across the UK and his musical talents have taken him to USA and Europe on several occasions. A busy teaching schedule sees him tutoring a large number of students weekly at his home studio, online, and at a private Norfolk boarding school.
As one of a handful of organists in the UK who plays concerts on the remaining cinema organs (Wurlitzer etc) he is a past winner of the UK Young Theatre Organist of Year Award.
In addition to being a part of the team at Allens Music Centre, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk (Europe's leading home organ specialist) has also composed & arranged exam music for the Royal Schools of Music, played for weddings, receptions, ballroom dancing, theatre shows, recorded over six CD albums....the list is almost endless!
Throughout the year Tom also finds time to be Music Director for pantomimes & theatre shows, hosting live streams on this YouTube channel and spending time with his family!
Tom is also a noted silent film accompanist - over the years he has accompanied many pictures from the silent canon including Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy, Harold Lloyd et al. Highlight films include The General, Safety Last, Pandora's Box, and The Theif Of Bagdad.
He is a resident season organist playing theatre organs at the Grange Musical Collection (Palgrave, Suffolk), and is the principal organist at the Southwold Electric Picture Palace. In past years he was a staff organist at The Village Experience, Fleggburgh, Norfolk, and the Mechanical Music Museum, Cotton, Suffolk playing Compton and Wurlitzer theatre organs.
