About Mark

Mark Spafford

Born in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and has been playing for over 30years.

He started having private piano lessons, passing his exams before turning to the organ, where he continued his lessons through the Yamaha Music School.

His first appearance at the age of 18 was in local public houses and clubs backing singers before changing his playing for ballroom and sequence dancing. His passion still today is playing for dancing as he travels up and down the country for the dance events and due to his music performances, has opened up new oportunities.Often with comments received as "you really must enjoy playing as it shows in your music"

Started playing for concerts in 2011 following numerous enquiries from people at the dances asking if he played for concerts as well. Since then, he has performed many times at clubs and societies as Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Ollerton, Blackpool, South Yorkshire, East Herts, York, Hull, Harrogate, Cheadle, Great Yarmouth, North Tyneside and Swineshead. His variety of music, style and arrangements have been well recieved by audiences with feedback comments of "you play with a lot of feeling"

Has always played Yamaha organs during his career before changing to keyboards to make life a lot easier for transportation, along with the fantastic sounds generated from the latest Yamaha equipment. Mark's current instrument is the Yamaha Genos.
