About Singing Hills Wurlitzer

The Pavilion at Singing Hills Golf Course, tucked away in the verdant Sussex countryside, is home to two magnificent Wurlitzer organs.  The first is a 2/5 instrument, which came from the Regal Cinema in Colchester.  The second a magnificent 3/23 Wurlitzer, which incorporates the original 5 ranks from the small organ along with some superb pipework imported from the USA.  The result is a rich, thrilling and blended sound.

We hold concerts featuring the UK's very best organists at 3pm on Sunday afternoons during the autumn and winter months, when the golf course and its associated facilities are not so busy.  With a friendly and warm atmosphere, and limited seating (around 100) concerts do often sell out so it is advisable to book your tickets in advance by calling Honor on 01903 817 116 during office hours.  For last minute reservations on the day of the concert only, call the bar team at Singing Hills on 01273 835 353 Option 6 and they will be able to tell you if there are any tickets available.

Many of our concert patrons very much enjoy a two or three course carvery lunch in the Pavilion Restaurant before the show.  If you would like to join us for lunch, booking is essential on 01273 835 353 Option 5.

Michael Wooldridge is our Resident Organist and he gave the first preview concert on the organs on 21st February 1999.  He also had a major part to play in the specification and refurbishment of the 3/23 in 2002.  It is sometimes possible in the winter months for clubs and societies to arrange private group visits to see and hear the organ played by Michael and to perhaps enjoy a cream tea as well.

Concerts at Singing Hills are run by the Theatre Pipe Organ Preservation Society (Registered Charity No. 1160194), who also operate the incredible 4/32 East Sussex National Wurlitzer.  You can find out more about our organs and also more detailed travel directions by visiting our website (as above).

Singing Hills concerts are normally on Sunday afternoons at 3pm but please note that our January concert featuring Mr. Blackpool, Phil Kelsall MBE, is on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm.
