Tim Flint Festivals and superior hotel breaks

As you may know, Tim has had a lot of experience on the Organ Festival scene. In 2001, he also started organising his own organ and keyboard festivals, which he is calling ‘SUPERIOR HOTEL BREAKS WITH TIM FLINT & FRIENDS’. These are smaller events, generally taking 100 or so guests, and the emphasis is on a holiday in high quality hotels with lovely surroundings, good food, good service, and of course – good music. Tim also feels that by putting this type and size of event on, he is more easily able to create a nice ‘intimate’ atmosphere. As he says … ‘It means that during the event, I can get to meet and talk to everyone who’s there, and it’s like one big party’.

There are several festivals throughout the year - held at several different locations. Details below...

WINDERMERE FESTIVAL 2003 REVIEW ... The event was a total sell-out!

March 2003 not only saw the first 'Tim Flint & Friends' festival of the year, but also the first of his events in the beautiful Lake District. The venue, the Belsfield Hotel, overlooking the lake at Bowness-on-Windermere, is a lovely hotel set beautifully above the lake in it's own grounds.

The team arrived at the hotel around 10 am on the Friday - raring to go. They met up once again with the hotel staff, and everything was on track for a great weekend. We, together with Ryan Edwards, then got stuck into setting up the equipment and lighting for the concert room, whilst Eileen, Luke and Olwen organised exhibition areas. Guests started to arrive from lunchtime, and it was great to see some old and new faces. Indeed, some had never been to a festival before.

The official opening to the event was dinner, which was served in the beautiful restaurant overlooking the lake, and at this point it must be said that the food and service for the whole weekend was superb. The weather was not as kind as it might have been, but in typical British style, it did not dampen the enjoyment or enthusiasm of the guests. This was, of course, helped along with great performances from David Thomas, Chiho Sunamoto, Ryan Edwards, Tim, Jean Martyn, Andrew Nix and Tony Stace.
