Hi and welcome to my Organfax page.
Before we begin just a brief note regarding the ongoing lockdown - I will be keeping my page completely up to date so if any dances/concerts have to be cancelled (or booked) I will add or remove them from the list below so you will know that if its on the list the event is taking place.
I will be continuing to take new bookings, so please do continue to get in touch.
Hopefully things will resolve themselves before too much longer. In the meantime take care of yourselves and each other and I look forward to seeing you very soon. Stuart
Anyway on with the biography -
Thank you for taking the time to find out a bit more about me and for considering me for your concert or dance.
Obviously the first thing you may want to know is a bit of background -
My parents will tell you I could play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on my toy xylophone aged 3. After ‘wowing’ the family with my skills on the xylophone I eventually moved into the organ world starting out on a Thomas before graduating to Lowery then an Elka, all before my first paid booking aged 13.
In the 35 years, and several organs (Elka and Wersi) since - as well as meeting and marrying my wonderful wife Dawn and having our lovely children - I have built up a career playing for dances across Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex (although I welcome the opportunity to break into new counties). I have also played concerts for clubs in Boston, Coningsby, Grantham, Norwich, Rutland, Sleaford, Swineshead, Walsoken and Woodhall.
For those of you interested in these sort of things, my current setup for dances and concerts is a
Korg Pa3x-pro keyboard and a
Yamaha Stagepas 600 PA system.

Stuart Burr for Concerts
Since returning to the concert circuit, two years ago, I have put together a brand new programme, with new arrangements, independent of my dances, so your audience won’t end listening to a concert of dance music (unless that’s what you particularly want!)
The concert is played completely live with no programming, pre-recording or multi-tracking and includes music for all tastes from Bagpipes to Bond, War of the Worlds to The Wurzels, Strauss to sing-a-longs, a megamedley of classic television themes and much, much more. All presented with good humour and a smidgen of chat.
'Versatile keyboard player Stuart, came along to entertain us at Norwich Keyboard and Electronic Organ Club recently with his brand new concert programme. Stuart included a broad variety of music and something 'a bit different' to what we normally hear. It was a very pleasant evening which prompted great comments and requests to 'book him again' from an impressed audience.'

Stuart Burr for Dances
My dance repertoire includes getting on for 1500 musical arrangements of pieces, some of which you may not have danced to before and I am adding new music all the time. As with my concerts there is something for everyone - dance standards, big band, trad jazz, film soundtracks, musicals, TV themes, country, classical, pop, rock, disco and easy listening. All music is arranged and played live to approved tempos and appropriate lengths for Ballroom, Latin and Sequence Dances
"When Stuart is playing it is always a very good evening. His excellent musicalality is uplifting and inspires people to get up and dance."
Sue and John, The Novell Dance Club, Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire.
'Stuart has played regularly for our Tea Dances at Marshland Hall now for a few months. He provides us with a good mix of strict tempo Ballroom, Latin and Sequence dances which go down well with our dancers. Being on the borders of three counties, he has attracted a local following into our lovely hall which has now been up and running for a couple of years.'
"Hi Stuart thank you for a most enjoyable evening at Woodbridge. Our 50/50 dance went with a swing and we are all looking forward to seeing you again in 2021. A pity it can't be sooner. Ann Sunshine."
If you want to have a themed dance - no problem - I have music arranged for the following themes -
50s and 60s
UK chart hits (1950s to present)
and of course Christmas.
Having a party? Invite me to play for your birthday dance, wedding or club/hall anniversary dance and my programme will include hit songs and movie music, along with reminiscences from the year. Also, where possible, this will include the number one song from the day.
'Stuart played for our golden wedding tea dance and we were so pleased we booked him because he played extremely well. He themed the whole programme around the year and date of our wedding. After the dance finished a lot of the guests made a point of saying that he did us proud and how much they enjoyed his playing and his programme.' Alec & Norma Budden, February 2020
Now I'm 'getting on a bit' I have compiled my first bucket list - can you help me tick any of them off?
1) To play for a dance holiday (Your dancers can experience my no repeat playlist)
2) To play a Christmas Concert (I can bring along my 'stage filling' inflatable decorations and Christmas light effects)
3) To play in Blackpool (for obvious reasons)
4) To play at one of the keyboard/music/dance festivals
5) To combine 1 and 3
or 3 and 4
or better still 1, 3 and 4!!
6) The Beatles went across the Atlantic to break America, my sights are set on hitting Yorkshire and Derbyshire (and Lancashire - see number 3)
Thanks again for reading my page and your consideration.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Further concert and dance dates for being added 2021, 2022 and 2023.
