About Steve

Steve Clarke,

As a young boy Steve tickled those ivory`s, never missing an opportunity to find his way to the family piano. At the age of twelve he was presented with a birthday gift of a Piano Accordion and no more than six months later an Electronic Organ  arrived on the scene. At the tender age of just 14, Steve found himself playing the Organ at the local British Legion Club. Three nights a week backing the artist`s and one night the dance night. To this day Steve still finds time to play for cabaret and dances. It was an excellent grounding for what was to come in the future.

After leaving , he joined the music retail world. By the 1980`s he had successfully managed Oran stores subsequent to which he accepted the role of Regional Manager for Yamaha, and later Uk manager Lowrey Organs.

Over the past decades his activities have mainly been devoted to the playing side of the Organ/Keyboard. In this sphere he has worked as Musical Director on many Variety shows, in many leading Theatres throughout the UK: St David`s Hall Cardiff, St Georges Hall Glasgow, Roses Theatre Tewksbury, and many more. In recent years he has worked as Musical Director to Ted Rogers, The Bachelor`s, Craig Dougles, Clinton Ford, Dennis Lotis, Jimmy Cricket, Paul Shane, Stu Francis. plus a host more.  A two year Uk tour with the successful We`ll Meet Again Show, combined with several season`s at the Winter Gardens Pavilion Theatre Blackpool, Embassy Theatre Skegness and Yarmouth.

Whilst in th past he has accepted invitations to play for Organ Societies, particulary in the North of England , his work schedules have been at times restrictive in this sphere. But for the past two years he has expanded his appearances in this field, while still providing individual playing and theoretical tuition to his many pupils in his own studio.

His appearances at venues have been warmly recieved and appreciated by his audiences, not only for his artistry but also for his carefully prepared and varied programmes covering a wide and varied spectrum of music from Swing, Jazz, Classics, and Easy Listening.
