Dave was born in Bradford into a musical family, his grandmother taught piano and his father played the piano in several dance bands. At the age of 5 he started piano lessons and when the family moved to Lancashire he carried on with the lessons gaining several qualifications in playing and theory.
Whilst at school he joined the school brass band becoming solo euphonium player and broadcasting twice on school bands programmes. After leaving school he became church organist at his local church but the pull of 'modern' music was greater so he started playing at a local social club and eventually got a residency. In 1970 he joined the Manchester Entertainers and Concert Artists Association, MECAA. playing for auditions at Sunday lunchtime, he later became resident organist at the club. During this time he played for many popular and famous names including,The Nolan Sisters, Don Estelle, David Whitfield, Karl Denver and Roy Orbison.
Whilst freelance he was in demand all over the north west but with the demise of so many W.M.C's he now plays concerts and produces CD's on his Yamaha Tyros 5 system (Tyros5, NP31 lower keyboard and Bass pedals). Davids wide repertoire features Big Bands, Rock n Roll, Orchestral, Light classics Musicals, and Show tunes.
