Alastair Kiernan is one of the leading electronic and theatre / pipe organists in the country. At only 40 he has already made a name for himself as a very highly accomplished and talented artiste on both electronic organ and on the theatre organ.
Over the years Alastair has performed at many of the noteable theatre / pipe organ venues, which include:- The Thursford Collection, Turners Musical Merry Go Round, Blackpool Tower, The Dome Brighton, Dreamland Margate, Napton Nickelodeon, Abbey Hall Abingdon, The Plough Great Munden, St Albans Organ Museum, Shrewsbury Buttermarket, Odeon Weston Super Mare, Beer Wurlitzer, Burton Upon Trent Town Hall, Civic Hall Wolverhampton, Southampton Guildhall, Wizard Compton Bristol, Bournemouth Pavillion, Rye Wurlitzer and the Worcester Wurlitzer to name but a few.
At the age of 18 Alastair was appointed as stand in resident organist at the prestigious Turners Musical Merry Go Round in Northampton.
Various broadcasts have been featured on BBC Radio 2, Manx Radio, BBC Radio Guernsey, Radio Leeds, Humberside and York, Radio Hereward and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
Performances are nationwide and include regular trips to the Channel Islands and the continent for theatre / pipe and electronic organ shows.
From January 2012 things will have changed for Alastair. Life is becoming increasingly busy and due to constraints outside of the organ world. Alastair has taken a difficult decision and after 25 years of performing he will no longer be performing for electronic organ concerts and shows where there is the need to carry his own electronic organ and equipment. Alastair is still taking bookings for fixed organ installations where theatre / pipe organs are in situ and will continue to give performances at these venues for the coming future. For further information please do not hesitate to give Alastair a call.
