Join Ian Tracey this coming Sunday (22nd June) at 3pm for a concert at Prescot Parish Church, Church Street, Prescot. L34 1LA
A ‘Top of the Organ Pops’ programme includes such favourites as Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Purcell’s Trumpet Voluntary and Albinoni’s Adagio in G minor. Festival patron and Liverpool Cathedral Organist Titulaire Professor Dr Ian Tracey makes a return appearance in celebration of this tenth annual Prescot Festival. Widely acknowledged as one of the chief practitioners of his instrument in the UK, Ian has over a dozen recordings to his name, and is also Chorus Master to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir.
As well as performing a host of sacred and secular organ classics today, he will talk about his time as a young organist in Prescot. The concert is dedicated to the late Revd David Rose of the parish. This event is kindly sponsored by Prescot Town Council.
