This in from Weyhill.
I hope this item may encourage other clubs: In contrast to the sad news of closures recently advised to OrganFax, the Weyhill Electronic Organ Society's December (Christmas) concert, staged on 19 December, was sold out (150 tickets) some three weeks in advance and a substantial reserve list was drawn up.
The show, featuring DirkJan Ranzijn, reversed a trend as the Club's attendances had dropped off somewhat during the past year or so. There is no secret to this reversal of fortunes: much of the recovery must be attributed to the popularity of the artiste, plus a vast amount of publicity, publicity and yet more publicity - by whatever means possible! It also helps if visiting performers can be persuaded to avoid playing outdated music.
There are no short cuts to survival - it is continuous hard work - and we realise we are as vulnerable as any other club. We certainly cannot afford to be complacent.
