Following several months of uncertainty concerning the long time future of the Town Hall at Louth, Lincs where the fabulous Compton organ is showcased each month in concert as part of the North Lincolnshire Theatre Organ Preservation Society, good times are ahead!
The hand over of the Town Hall took place yesterday morning to The Louth Education Community Interest Company (Lecic) so the future of the Compton and the monthly concerts are now secure. Having been given the green light, a programme of concerts featuring some of the UK's top artistes is now confirmed right through to the end of 2013.
This wonderful venue makes for a superb setting in it's own right and the Compton has never sounded better following continued loving care from organ builder Les Allit and all complemented by a superb Hammond C3 organ in situ that is featured at each event. Well worth a visit!
