Following on from our report the other day, Phil Brown has once again been in touch to tell us of the success of the concert...
"Just wanted to let you know how much money we raised for the Macmillan Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital on Monday so it can be passed on to the OrganFax readers. The concert was a fantastic success with all seats taken and more had to be added, so much so that we raised from the concert alone £727.10, other money was also raised which was from the sale of an organ (£275) and from Lorraine, a daughter of my friend who passed away with cancer and was looked after by the Macmillan Unit, she raised £347, so total raised was £1349.10.
We were absolutely delighted with the event raising so much and the concert went so well."
Well done folks, what a great achievement!
Phil Brown has been in touch to tell us of a special one off charity concert with himself and Lynne Siddons on Monday 30th July at St. George’s Social Centre, Village Street, off Balaclava Road, Derby, DE23 8SZ which of course is the home of the Derby Organ & Keyboard Club. Starting at 7.30pm, doors open at 6.45pm, the entrance fee is £6 per person and both Phil and Lynne are doing it totally free so all proceeds go to the charity.
The Charity they are raising money for is the Macmillan Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital and in memory of the late George Cabell who was a great friend of theirs and was cared for by this Macmillan Unit before he passed away.
I'm sure it will be a great evening in aid of a wonderful cause.
