Keyboard Cavalcade Festivals

Keyboard Cavalcade Festivals March To A New Home In 2013 with one last special “celebration farewell event” at their current home for 6 years.

Keyboard Cavalcade’s top music festivals have been enjoyed by thousands of organ and keyboard enthusiast’s over the past 27 years. It all started back in 1985 at the Haven centre at Caister-on-Sea. After many happy years at Caister new owners changed the venue into a caravan park, so they marched down the coast together to Pontins at Pakefield in 2006. Having enjoyed six successful years at Pakefield they will be moving to a great new venue after one final extra-special, finale “party festival”, their 14th event at Pakefield - this September.

Grant Neal from Sceptre Promotions (who puts together the Keyboard Cavalcade events) tells us that organ and keyboard enthusiast’s shouldn’t miss the last ever Keyboard Cavalcade Festival at Pakefield. He says “It will be an extra special farewell party event that will also celebrate this Royal Jubilee year”. To be held between the 3rd-10th of September 2012 Sceptre are also holding their 2011 prices as part of the celebration. Sceptre has already confirmed an early taster of the star cast that will be joining fellow enthusiast’s as part of the all day entertainment programme and exhibition extravaganza, these include: TONY FENELON - JOHN BOWDLER - ROBERT BARTHA - STEVE LOWDELL - STEVE HUBBLE - JEAN MARTYN - BRIAN SHARP – KEYKLIX - BEN SCOTT HYDE - ELIZABETH HARRISON - TONY STACE - ANDREW NIX - MATTHEW BASON TIM FLINT - CHRIS POWELL - BRETT WALES - DAVID THOMAS - MIKE HALL - PETER HAYWARD - CHRIS JONES - DAVID HARRILD - RICHARD BOWER - IAN GRIFFIN - DANIEL WATT - ROD POOLEY and many more

Grant told us more about Sceptre’s reason for moving – “The new owners of the Pontin’s Pakefield will be making further changes next year, which means Keyboard Cavalcade may not have use of all the many exhibition areas and seminar rooms that we currently enjoy. So we felt it was the right time to find a new home for the UK’s largest organ festival. For the past three years we have been using the Seacroft holiday village (near our original home at Caister) to hold an accordion event. The positive feedback we received from accordion enthusiast’s, and the warm welcome the centre gave them has made them decide that this is the ideal new home for Cavalcades east coast events”. “Seacroft Holiday village is owned by Richardson’s, who are a local friendly family firm, they are keen to attract Cavalcadians to their adult “over 50’s only” centre. Ironically Seacroft was the site of the very first East Coast organ festival, held by Pontin’s in 1983. Richardson’s purchased the catered side of the centre in March 1998 and this site has been the subject of an ongoing schedule of refurbishment. Located near the beach in Hembsy, the surrounding area is like stepping back in time to how seaside resorts used to be. Within a few steps of the holiday village is a range of traditional seaside outlets, arcades, rock shops and the lovely sand dunes of the beach, it really is a trip down memory lane. Further good news is that the price is also cheaper, great news in these credit-crunched times. So the best value festivals available will be even better value in 2013 and the two Seacroft events will join our successful Blackpool show to complete the usual selection of three annual events”.
