Carlisle and West Cumbria Organ and Keyboard Society celebrated its 40th Birthday with a special concert on Thursday 30th April featuring Andrew Nix and Tony Stace.
A near capacity audience including former Chairman Keith Harkness and former Secretary David Johnson were treated to over two hours of top class music and laughter.
The Society was formed in 1969 as a branch of the Hammond Organ Society and later changed its name to the Carlisle and District Organ Society as organs became more popular in the seventies and eighies. The name was changed once again to better reflect the area they covered and the introduction of keyboards to Carlisle and West Cumbria Organ and Keyboard Society.
The Society meets on the last Thursday of the month. Everyone is welcome even if you do not play an instrument.
