Brian Sharp Memorial Concert Raises £1532

The Brian Sharp Memorial Concert held on 26th September at the Mercure Kidderminster Hotel at Bewdley, raised a total of £1532. This will go to 'The Deanesly Centre Trust Fund' at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, where Brian received much of his treatment. Thanks should go to the organiser George Ingley, the artistes - Howard Beaumont, Jean Martyn and David Ingley who all freely gave their services to produce a first rate evening of entertainment, inspired by the music that Brian was well known for. Thanks also go to all the people that attended the show and those who were unable to be there but sent donations. The concert was also attended by the Mayor of Bewdley and several members of the Brian Sharp Family. The folowing letter was sent to George by the Sharp family.

Dear George and Diane

We would like to thank you, Diane and David for the wonderful memorial concert you organised in honour of our late father. The respect and reverence paid to dad by yourselves and the performers was both moving and comforting. Please pass on our gratitude to Howard Beaumont, Jean Martyn and David Ingley for whom our father had not just professional respect, but personal fondness too. Our mother, Stella, before passing away, was keen for you to arrange the concert, as both our parents had trust in your ability and integrity. We would also like to thank all the lovely people, many of whom travelled a great distance, to support the event, and were loyal followers over many years.

It is wonderful that you raised so much for dad’s chosen charity, the Deanesly Centre at New Cross Hospital and we are sure that our loving parents would be very proud.

With heartfelt thanks,

Joanne, Gaynor, Nigel and Samantha
