In the atmospheric auditorium of Clevedon’s historic Curzon Cinema Charlie Chaplin’s little tramp will amuse audiences, new and old, on Sun 6th December, 2pm accompanied by Richard Lennox on the 1930s Christie Pipe Organ.
Popular local artist, Lennox, has recorded and performed on organs extensively in theatres, cathedrals and concert halls across the UK and Europe, including The Royal Albert Hall. Alongside Chaplin’s The Tramp and The Boxer he will perform a range of organ music including The Holy City by Stephen Adams, Dizzy Fingers by Zez Confrey and his own arrangement of The Christmas Fantasia.
This event marks a developing partnership between Bristol Silents and Curzon Cinema and Arts continuing to celebrate those great black and white, silent films in which today’s film industry is rooted.
For those tempted to have a go at the mighty Christy, a Sunday morning slot can be booked. Go here for more details.
