The Chapel at Stowe is an extraordinary building housing one of the country’s most important musical instruments. The organ in the chapel is the second largest school chapel organ in the world (after Lancing College). Designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and opened in 1929 by Prince George, included this magnificent organ that was designed in conjunction with the School’s first Director of Music Dr. L P Huggins.
Richard Cook, one of the country’s leading classical organists will be attending Stowe on Wednesday 20 May to perform works which demonstrate the full range of the instrument, which now stands at an impressive 75 stops. The programme includes works by Parry, Dupré and Widor.
