The Willis organ was built as a three-manual instrument in 1895, incorporating a small amount of pipework from previous instruments by John Gray, Samuel Green and by Gray & Davison. It was rebuilt by Harrison & Harrison, and opened in 2010 and this spectacular instrument will be showcased through a variety of events designed to demonstrate its versatility and importance.
You can see Naji Hakim, one of the world’s leading concert organists, composers and improvisers open the 2015 Cirencester International Organ Festival. There will be a week of exciting events, including week-day, lunchtime recitals, a feature silent movie, an improvisation concert by resident organist, Anthony Hammond, and a gala concert from Andrew Dewar, Organist of the American Cathedral, Paris.
