Next year (2015) sees the Scarborough Electronic Organ Society celebrate it’s Golden Anniversary. The society was founded early in 1965 by a group of organ enthusiasts and was originally known as the Scarborough Hammond Organ Society before it took on it’s present name.
Dave Turner (Hon Secretary), on behalf of the Committee, has asked us to pass on the following message.
"I would like to thank all of the members, visitors, and, of course, artistes who have supported us over all those years. As a celebration of 50 years in existence, we have organised a special 50th birthday party to coincide with our Nicholas Martin Concert on Monday 25th May 2015, which everyone is welcome to attend.
This will take place at the Scarborough Fair Collection Museum within the Flower of May Holiday Park, Lebberston Cliff, Scarborough YO11 3NU. The celebrations will commence around 7pm, with Nicholas’s Concert commencing at 7.30pm. It will include Nick playing the wonderful Wurlitzer theatre organ installed there.
There will also be a buffet kindly provided by organist and Society member Michael Carr, included in the admission price of just £7.00 (our normal admission price). We would like to extend an invitation to all to celebrate this milestone in the Society’s existence and everyone will be made most welcome. It promises to be a wonderful and memorable evening.
For those that wish to attend it would be appreciated if you could email me, or give me a call on 01723 369862, to give me an idea of numbers for catering purposes".
We wish them the very best for their 2015 celebrations!
