Kevin Grunill announces an exciting programme of events in West Yorkshire this Spring with exciting news of a brand new theatre organ venue!
The Astoria Centre near Barnsley has become the new home of the Sheffield Compton; which was featured in concert for many years at its previous home in the city. The multi purpose new venue will see regular concerts, tea dances and will also be a rare setting for budding players to get real 'hands-on' experience of a theatre pipe organ.

This year’s UK Young Theatre Organist of the Year Competition, presented by the London and South of England Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society, was held on the fabulous 3/12 Wurlitzer at the Musical Museum, Kew Bridge on Sunday 22nd November.
The large and appreciative audience were presented with a wonderful afternoon of great music from the entrants, the youngest of whom was 14 and the eldest 17. International recitalist, Dr Anthony Hammond, will be returning to the village of his grandparents to play a dramatic and improvised organ accompaniment to the original 1925 black and white movie, The Phantom of the Opera. The film will be shown in St Mary’s Church, Overton-on-Dee on Saturday 21st November at 7:30pm.
