Dr Arnold Loxam, one of the last great theatre organists, has died aged 93.
Dr Loxam played professionally until the age of 90, and was best known in Bradford for his 16 years at the helm of the Wurlitzer organ at the New Victoria, which became the Gaumont and later the Odeon.
A great loss for the organ world of a true genial gent who will be very sadly missed by many. Our sympathy and thoughts go to his family and friends.
On December 3rd, Jean Martyn was invited to play for the Not Forgotten Association at St. James Palace in front of the Princess Royal.

New for 2010 .. Pete has been working since October last year on a completely new two keyboard and pedals set up consisting of Tyros 3 Expanded, Kurzweil PC3X 88 note fully weighted Piano- Workstation, and Hammond XPK200 20 Note Bass Pedalboard.
The system will be fully on the road from March Onwards for both his Organ Societies/Festivals and Cabaret Work with his wife Yvonne. Just in from Pete Shaw, his show at Cardiff Organ Society has been cancelled this evening. He will now be performing there on 8th Nov 2011.
Our first call this morning was from Violet Wittingham at Horsham Organand Keyboard Society. They have been forced to cancel their concert later this week due to bad weather as their concert hall is snowbound. Their AGM will now be before the next concert on Feb 10th.
Our second call this morning was from Tony Reed at Ascot who informs us that they have also had to cancel this week and their concert on Friday with Nicholas Martin is postponed until 19th Feb.

Regrettably, the East Lancs Organ and Keyboard Club have had to cancel the concert with Brian Hazelby next Monday 11th January. They hope to be able to slot Brian in for another show during the year or very early in 2011.
Peterborough Organ & Keyboard Club have rescheduled their concert with Mathew Bason on 14th January to 25th February.
Also, York Electronic Organ & Keyboard Societies concert on 14th January with Howard Beaumont has been rescheduled and will now take place on Thursday 28th January.
