New Venue for LeamingtonNew Venue for Leamington

Saturday 24th January

Leamington & District Organ Society has had bit of a shock as the local community centre which hosts their concerts has closed down without warning.

Fortunately they have managed to find a replacement venue for the up coming show on January 28th with Andrew Nix. The Radford Road Church, Radford Road, Leamington Spa CV31 1NF will host this show. We will of course keep you informed as soon as Tony Whittaker and the committee let us know if this is to be a permanent arrangement!

Colchester Town Hall’s majestic Edwardian Organ is being returned to its former glory through a restoration project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The organ was removed from the Moot Hall in July 2014 and will be reinstated in Spring 2015 to be heard and enjoyed by people of all ages and by future generations. The restoration is accompanied by an exciting programme of outreach, education and performance activities involving the local community.

Tony Stace & Andrew Nix will be performing their unique "DUET SHOW" at venues around the country throughout 2015. All performances are on a Sunday afternoon and if you are in the area they are a treat not to be missed. Each show consists of highly rehearsed arrangements played totally as a duo!

Yamaha begin on Yamaha Begin Work On Worlds Most Inspiring Music Store

Friday 16th January

Yesterday, work began on a revolutionary refit taking place at Yamaha Music London - the company's three-story flagship UK store. 

The store's largest ever refit, will take place over a 12 day period and aim's to transform the listed building into a state-of-the-art musical instrument store.

The piano floor, pictured, will remain open throughout the refit with a full selection of Yamaha, Bösendorfer and Kemble upright, grand and silent pianos for you to choose from.

Well known organist and Co-founder and Fundraiser of the 'Miracles To Believe In' Charity, Nicholas Martin has been awarded the British Empire Medal for services to Children and Families in the New Years Honours list .

Cirencester International Organ Festival

Sunday 11th January

Cirencester International Organ Festival will take place from 18th - 25th April 2015.

This is the fourth organ festival to take place in the town organised by Cirencester Parish Church - home to a world-class organ - and the second year to feature an international programme.

The 2015 festival opens with a gala recital performed international composer, improviser and virtuoso organist Naji Hakim who is visiting the festival from Paris.
