Tuesday 14th April

St Stephen's Church is the Parish Church of Burnley Wood and Towneley and on Saturday May 16th they will be organising a concert with our own Chris Powell to help raise funds to help pay for a new heating boiler before the coming winter. Although St Stephens is well known for its amateur theatre group and musical interest in the area dating back to 1956 this will be their first Organ Concert. Sad Loss At Banstead

Monday 13th April

We were sad to hear from Sue Poulter from The Banstead Organ & Keyboard Club that her husband Derek passed away on Easter Monday, suddenly after a short illness. He was a mainstay of the Banstead Club and well known to many in the organ world. He will be missed by all who knew him and our thoughts go out to Sue and her family. Another year passes and Britain's Got Talent is back on our TV screens. Last night Tony Stace & Andrew Nix got their chance to be seen on the show. The St Albans Organ Theatre are opening on a limited number of Sunday afternoons this year to provide an opportunity to view their unique collection of mechanical (self playing) musical instruments. These range from reproducing pianos, musical boxes and Victorian hand-turned organettes to four large Belgium dance organs.

It may not be Hollywood but this year Salisbury Cathedral's Father Willis Organ will be making its Big Screen debut as plans to place a special video-relay screen in the organ loft during concerts finally come to fruition.
