The Yamaha Club has moved

Message from Glyn Madden and The Yamaha Club...

Our long awaited moving date has finally arrived and the Yamaha Club will be based in Doncaster from 1st July 2017. As I’m moving out of the area the club will get its first change of telephone number since it began in 1995.  Naturally there will be a break in the service until a new permanent number can be established but don’t worry, you’ll be able to reach me from Monday 3rd July on our temporary number 07526 269873.

Special Charity ConcertSpecial Charity Concert

Tuesday 16th May

Aldermaston Concert Centre would love your support for a special charity concert they are holding on June 11th to rasie funds for the Air Ambulance. Their performer for the afternoon is the ever popular Chris Powell, with a range of music spanning across the decades.

Held at the William Penney Theatre within AWE's Recreational Society, Tadley, RG7 4PR, tickets cost £8 each and concert starts at 3pm.

We wish them every success raising money for this worthy cause.

Rye Wurlitzer Accademy have just announced a very special trip that we thought some of our OrganFax readers may be interested in.

Wednesday 7th June will see a Musical Coastal Excursion from Rye Harbour to London's Tower Pier on the preserved Motor Vessel Balmoral.  Along the way you will be entertained by Michael Wooldridge and his many pupils from the Rye Wurlitzer Academy.

The music world is mourning the loss of Roland founder and electronic instrument pioneer Ikutaro Kakehashi, who has died aged 87.

Kakehashi was the pioneer behind the Roland Atelier range which many of our artistes today still appear on stage with, his passion for the instrument was legendary. The Japanese engineer famously created many popular drum machines, including the iconic TR-808. Its sound is a staple of hip-hop and electronic music, used by everyone from Kanye West to Marvin Gaye.

It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of Terry Jones (Ahearn).  For many years, Terry has been the long time companion of Byron Jones and sadly he passed away earlier today.

Known to many of you in the business, I'm sure you will join with us in sending our love and deepest sympathy to Byron and their families.
