Steve Heywood, Band Manager with “Sounds Tijuana” a tribute band to Herb Alperts Tijuana Brass has asked us to try and help with the following.

They are looking for a keyboard player who may like an opportunity to play in their band. The age group is from 40 to 60 years and they rehearse on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesdays of the month. They are based near Stockport – Manchester. If you fancy a go then you can find more information or contact them on their website.

Penny Weedon will be appearing at the Worcester Festival on Friday 28th August at 8.00pm in the beautiful and historic Huntingdon Hall. She will be performing on the fine Nicholson pipe organ there, interspersed with items on her Yamaha ‘Travelling Light Orchestra’ and the Steinway Grand. Her programme will include favourites from around Europe, including Prelude to Act 3 from Lohengrin, Highlights from Grieg’s Piano Concerto, Debussy’s Reverie, A selection from Carmen, Holst’s Venus f... Organ Societies/Clubs are essentially businesses and as such the most successful ones are continually seeking means of publicity. The Weyhill Electronic Organ Society has recently come up with a fabulous idea and secured the co-operation of Test Valley Borough Council in having its name displayed in one of Andover's many floral gardens. Perhaps your club has other novel ideas that can be used to help!

Howard Beaumont will be accompanying the classic silent film 'Steamboat Bill Jnr' at the Scarborough Fair collection Lebberston Nr Scarborough on Sunday 13th September at 2.30 pm. The Mighty Wurlitzer held at the museum will be put through it's paces as Howard re-creates this famous art form of one man becoming a whole orchestra to give the film a new lease of life.
