We are sorry to report that Penny Weedon's mum sadly passed away last week. She died peacefully following a long illness.
Known to many in the organ and keyboard world, she'd accompanied Penny for many years and was often seen at the Keyboard Cavalcade events where she made many friends.
On behalf of all at OrganFax, we send Penny and Tony our deepest sympathy and our thoughts are with them and their family at this sad time.

It is with great regret that the COS Midlands and Wales District have had to cancel their planned weekend of events which was due to take place between the 22nd and 25th May. However, the good news is that it will not affect the planned Dinner/Concert on Saturday 23rd May with Simon Gledhill at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.
At a recent meeting of the Midlands & Wales District Committee, the decision was taken in view of the low response for tickets, due mainly to the financial and economical down turn currently experienced in the UK and abroad.

Dorset based society, Wessex Organ World have just presented a hugely successful concert with a difference. Well known organ star, Ian Griffin appeared alongside the hugely talented, Rhiannon Evans who's amazing vocal ability was discovered at last October's Lyme Bay Keyboard Experience where she won the festivals X-Factor competition.

It is hoped that a sum in the region of £1,000 will have been raised for the Mayor of Test Valley’s selected charities as a result of the recent concert performed by world-renowned organist, Carol Williams. The event, held at St Mary's Church, Andover was very well attended and Carol certainly enhanced her already fine reputation.

On Sunday 15th March, the New Forest Organ Society held a lunch with an organ concert at Hoburne Bashley, New Milton in support of the Help for Heroes campaign. Help for Heroes is the charity that is raising money in support of our badly injured men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, to help provide them with special facilities etc.

2009 will see a new addition to the Folly Farm funfair (Pembrokeshire) with the arrival of their Mighty Wurlitzer.
Paul Kirner, of Compton Lodge, Sapcote, Leicestershire, who purchased the Wurlitzer from the Lancastrian Theatre Organ Trust, has provided the organ to Folly Farm on long term loan. It is being installed and will be maintained by Ben Snowdon.
To celebrate the new arrival, Saturday 2nd May at 7pm will see John Mann take his seat at the 4/14 Wurlitzer previously installed at the Gaumont Cinema and Granada Studios, Manchester.
