Good news from Scotland. For the first time in 40 years, there is a Keyboard and Organ Club in Edinburgh.
The Edinburgh Keyboard & Electronic Organ Society has been formed by Kerr McIntosh, proprietor of the KeyPlayer Yamaha Homeworld store in the city. KeyPlayer was formerly known as Edinburgh Organ Studios, and was run by Kerr’s father Bill, for over 40 years. Bill sadly left us in February this year, but it was always his dream to re-establish an organ club in Edinburgh. Now that dream has become reality.

Whilst David was setting up for the recent Brian Sharp Musical Break at The Kidderminster Mercure Hotel, operations were brought to a halt when the hotel receptionist asked if Keith Wilkinson from ITV Central News could use the room to film a couple of pre-arranged interviews for a short tribute to Betty Yates, the Bewdley resident who was brutally murdered earlier this year.

Following several months of uncertainty concerning the long time future of the Town Hall at Louth, Lincs where the fabulous Compton organ is showcased each month in concert as part of the North Lincolnshire Theatre Organ Preservation Society, good times are ahead!

Weyhill Electronic Organ Society decided to ‘push the boat out’ by engaging four artistes to perform for their recent concert at The Lights Theatre in Andover ... and their initiative was well rewarded with a truly excellent show, in front of an audience of around 220.

We are delighted to learn from John Askwith of the North Lincolnshire Theatre Organ Preservation Society that their new season of concerts on the Compton organ start again on 9th September with Andrew Nix.
The future of the Town Hall has been in doubt threatening the concerts there but good news has prevailed and the Compton organ has been secured with ownership of it passing from East Lindsey District Council to the Louth Community Education Trust on 1st October meaning that the concerts can continue.
Great news for followers of this wonderful organ in such a stunning venue!
