Last Thursday (November 22nd), North Staffs Organ & Keyboard Club staged a charity concert in the aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance and raised a fabulous £1,100 for this very worthwhile charity. Good news from Scotland. For the first time in 40 years, there is a Keyboard and Organ Club in Edinburgh.
The Edinburgh Keyboard & Electronic Organ Society has been formed by Kerr McIntosh, proprietor of the KeyPlayer Yamaha Homeworld store in the city. KeyPlayer was formerly known as Edinburgh Organ Studios, and was run by Kerr’s father Bill, for over 40 years. Bill sadly left us in February this year, but it was always his dream to re-establish an organ club in Edinburgh. Now that dream has become reality.

Whilst David was setting up for the recent Brian Sharp Musical Break at The Kidderminster Mercure Hotel, operations were brought to a halt when the hotel receptionist asked if Keith Wilkinson from ITV Central News could use the room to film a couple of pre-arranged interviews for a short tribute to Betty Yates, the Bewdley resident who was brutally murdered earlier this year.

Following several months of uncertainty concerning the long time future of the Town Hall at Louth, Lincs where the fabulous Compton organ is showcased each month in concert as part of the North Lincolnshire Theatre Organ Preservation Society, good times are ahead!
