Anyone wishing to see Carol in concert is welcome to a special performance at St Mary's Church, Andover on Saturday 21 March 2009 at 7.30 p.m.

The concert has been initiated by the Weyhill Electronic Organ Society who have organised the event in association with the Mayor of Test Valley's Charity Appeal. Carol is being sponsored by the Society and all proceeds will be donated to the Appeal. The world- renowned organist appeared at this venue in March 2007, when over £1,000 was raised for the local hospice.

Jazz man, Steve Lowdell tells us that he's upon the ocean waves from now until the Spring working onboard Fred Olsen's luxury cruise ship, 'Boudicca'.

We wish him 'bon voyage' on his Caribbean travels and Steve tells us that he is now open for engagements upon his return.

We have received the following press release from James Woodcock the owner of Yamaha Personal Keyboard Owner

"Wednesday 21st January 2009 will be the date Yamaha Personal Keyboard Owner is moved to a new faster, more secure and stable server. The website will be shutdown (both the main website and the forum) hopefully between 1-3 days depending on how easy the migration takes place, but I will endeavor with the help of my server provider to get YPKO up and running as soon as humanly possible. When we saw the firmware release the other day our initial thought was that most players would not be bothered about it. However it seems to be deeper than that as this latest fix enables the use of the scat voices from Tyros 2.

Yamaha have now released the Scat Voices that didn't convert over from Tyros2 to the Tyros3 using their official software. According to the Yamaha website, you also need to make sure you have version 1.02 (see the news item listed below) or later firmware installed before you can use these additional voices. Yamaha Release New FirmwareYamaha Release New Firmware

Wednesday 14th January

Yesterday, Yamaha released a new firmware version for their Tyros 3 flagship keyboard. According to the official Yamaha website, from which this firmware is available, this new update includes the following items:

1) A fix for a sound editing issue (editing certain parameters using the Custom Voice Editor was ineffective).

2) A fix for an issue where the velocity was ineffective on Custom Drum Kits which were created by importing a Wave file.

3) A fix for data problems involving several Preset Styles.
