Folly Farm Wurlitzer Celebrations!Folly Farm Wurlitzer Celebrations!

Thursday 19th March

2009 will see a new addition to the Folly Farm funfair (Pembrokeshire) with the arrival of their Mighty Wurlitzer.

Paul Kirner, of Compton Lodge, Sapcote, Leicestershire, who purchased the Wurlitzer from the Lancastrian Theatre Organ Trust, has provided the organ to Folly Farm on long term loan.  It is being installed and will be maintained by Ben Snowdon.

To celebrate the new arrival, Saturday 2nd May at 7pm will see John Mann take his seat at the 4/14 Wurlitzer previously installed at the Gaumont Cinema and Granada Studios, Manchester.

Jean Martyn has been in touch and asked us to share the following with you all.  She writes:

"I have been chosen to represent England at the 100th Birmingham International Convention from 21st-24th June 2009. Delegates are attending this Convention from all over the World, so it is a great honour to have been chosen to do this.

I would like to convey my thanks to Bob Ware my manager, who has liaised with the Directors of Rotary in America, and made this dream become reality.

John and Jackie Romero are very pleased to announce that with the superb help of their guests and some additional fund raising they have managed to break through the £7,000 barrier at their February Organ and Keyboard Festival in Eastbourne. The total now stands at £7,019.01. Visitors to the Eastbourne Festivals will know the charity is very dear to their hearts and is an important part of their charity work.

Weekend cancelled at Harworth

Monday 16th March

Due to unforseen circumstances, this weekend's scheduled events at the Social Welfare Hall in Harworth have had to be cancelled. 

The planned Saturday night dance with Bill King and Sunday afternoon concert with Chris Powell will not take place.

Next month's dance and concert should hopefully run as normal.
