Scarborough Success!

Sunday 19th June

Tony Stace and Andrew Nix have been in touch to inform us that there has been a terrific response for their concerts at The Scarborough Fair Collection next month. The first concert on Sat 2nd of July is almost sold out with only a handful of seats remaining. After a great demand for tickets, the lads are repeating the concert on the Sunday 3rd July.

Folly Farm have announced the date of its Summer Swingtime Spectacular on Saturday 25 June at 7.00pm. A superb evening of swing time classics and some memorable tunes with Chris Powell on the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ joined by the sensational swing band The Numbers Racket.

The New Forest Organ Society’s Charity Lunch and Concert

Tuesday 19th April

On Sunday 3rd April, the New Forest Organ Society hosted a lunch and concert for 200 people in support of the Help for Heroes Charity.  It was held at Hoburne Bashley in New Milton where the lunch was excellent and the cream tea much enjoyed.  The concert was played by the very popular organist and musician, Ian House who produced a marvellous programme with a variety of music played on his Yamaha Tyros4 special keyboard setup.  The raffle was huge and thank you to all the members and local traders who donated prizes.

Report From Hamburg!

Below is a report from our good friend, Jack Raves of the Netherlands Organ Federation who wished to share his experience of Jean Martyn's concert in Hamburg a few weeks ago.  It's good to hear that organ music is still so popular in this corner of the world...

Many of you may know that there is a Welte 'Uniflex' Organ in the Hamburg Radio Studio of the N.D.R. (Nord Deutsche Rundfunk). (Uniflex, by the way stands for UNIT-organ, like most well known theatre pipeorgans.)
