Whilst not really a news item we thought many would appreciate this:
Washington DC Metro Station on a cold American January morning in 2007. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. This in from Pete Shaw:"Hi all, just to let you know that the gig was a great success for the Bro Glyndwr Choir, Ann Atkinson (MD) & myself at the National Eisteddfod on Sunday. Unfortunately the whole show ran an hour late so it meant us appearing on stage around 5pm instead of 4pm. The whole afternoon performances were shown live on S4C TV Channel". Pete (pictured right) went on to say "It was a Great Honour to work on such a professional show on such a super occasion".
We have just heard from Jeff Harding that Great Yarmouth Keyboard Music Club has been reprieved. It had been thought that the club would close at the end of this year. However, following a committee meeting they now have a new secretary, programme organiser, advertising/promotions officer and additional committee members to help out. It is great news that the club has been saved and we wish them the very best for the future.

We have just had an email from Pete Shaw telling us he is appearing at the National Eisteddfod in Bala on Sunday 2nd August. He will be backing a local Welsh Male Voice ( the Bro Glyndwr choir). The event will be televised on BBC Wales and (he believes) on S4C channels around the 4pm mark. Pete and the choir will be performing four songs, 'The huntsmens chorus', 'You Raise me up', 'The rose' and 'Five foot two'. Some years ago you would only have been able to see this if you had lived in Wales. Nowadays you can see these channels anywhere in the UK on Sky or freeview. Enjoy...
