2nd October 2010 will see the next UK Electronic Organ Competition which is being held at Park United Reformed Church in Reading.
There are 3 categories for the competition:
* Under 12's
* 13 - 17 year olds
* 18 years and over (no upper age limit)
Entry to Competition is first by submitting a recording (audio/video) to enter Preliminary. The deadline is the 2nd May 2010. Those successful will play in the Final on 2nd October 2010.

Although not exactly 'organ world' news, we thought you would like to know that Carillon Festivals have just announced that Tony Compton and "The Guvn'er" Jack Emblow are to appear at their Eastbourne Accordion Festival (19th-22nd February 2010). Jack, who is possibly the UK's most famous accordion player is known by many for his time on Sunday on Radio 2 programme "Sing Something Simple", one of the longest running programs on BBC Radio. The Welsh Wizard himself, Byron Jones has confirmed the line up for 2 of his forthcoming festivals.
His first event at the Belvedere Hotel in Bournemouth will feature Matthew Bason, Elizabeth Harrison, Janet Dowsett, Paul McCulloch & Byron along with Harmony Music.

Brett Wales and Chris Powell are delighted to announce that they have now raised £700 for their chosen charity following the recent success of their inaugural organ festivals.
The money has been raised over their 2 organ festival weekends in Bournemouth for Stepping Stones. The group is run by parents, for parents and carers of children with Down Syndrome in North Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey. The charity is very dear to Chris & Brett as it is run by a close friend who's daughter Gemma has Downs Syndrome and has told us of the wonderful work that they do.Read more.
Those that joined in the fun last weekend, will know how busy it was at this years MusicLand show. We are pleased to report that visitor numbers were up on last year's by over 10%. It was a very busy weekend, especially on Sunday when the weather was just a little better.
Casio, Carillon Festivals, Hammond, Orla, Roland, Yamaha and of course OrganFax, all turned out for a "right good do".
