The home music world has been shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Nick Swift of Swift Music at the age of only 57. He was widely known for his unstinting support of organists, organ societies and music festivals throughout the country and the contribution he made is immeasurable.
Nick and his wife Margaret opened their organ, piano and keyboard shop in Bristol in September 2000. Nick had previously run his own business in finance and Margaret had been employed in the civil service. Together they resolved to run the kind of business that they wo... Read more.
We have just been informed of an open invitation to anyone who would like to celebrate Nick's life. His funeral will be Friday 5th October at 1.30pm at Woodlands, just north of Bristol, BS35 3TA.
Please do not bring or send flowers as there will be family flowers only. A collection box will be available on the day or donations can be made through BCM Funeral Directors, 177 Crow Lane, Henbury, Bristol BS10 7DR.
If you are not aware Brentford Musical Museum have a whole day dedicated to Theatre Organs tomorrow, Saturday 29th September. The event is packed with things to do and we think it should be a great day out.

Jean Martyn will be playing at St Johns' Methodist Church, St Austell, Cornwall on 20th September. The aim of the event is to raise money for The Little Harbour Childrens Hospice. Tickets are available from the Hospice Tel: 01271 325 270
Jean told us "This childrens hospice is in desperate need of funds, and we would like to fill the church so that they can provide care and equipment for these children, any help and funds we can get will be deeply appreciated".
There is a new web based radio programme available to those interested in the world of Theatre Organs. Steve Ashley, who ran the original version between 2006 -2009, has restarted the programme. Although this slick new version is to be subscription based you have the chance to try out three whole programmes before deciding to part with your cash.

The venue for the September meeting of The Grimsby & District Electronic Organ Society, will be 'The Masonic Hall' Cambridge Road, Grimsby, N.E.Lincs. DN34 5SZ. This change is beyond the control of the Society. The 2012 A.G.M. of the Society takes place on Wednesday, 19th September at' The Countryman', Fieldhouse Road, Humberston, Grimsby, beginning at 8.30pm.
