Nicholas Martin helped the Weyhill Electronic Organ Society to celebrate its 100th concert on 19th August in front of a capacity attendance.  It was appropriate that Nick was the guest artiste as he had played for the Society’s inaugural concert in July 2002.  The event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley, Cllr. Pin To Play?!Pin To Play?!

Sunday 29th August

A Battenberg cake, a blue cockerel and an organ-shaped cashpoint are among the six works in the running for a place on the fourth plinth of Nelson's Column at Trafalgar Square.  The winning artork will replace Nelson's Ship in a Bottle in 2012.

The idea of American artist Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla from Cuba is a pipe organ which will play when people use a cashpoint installed in the plinth. The pipes will play as people tap their cards pin number into the keyboard!

The models are on display in St Martin in the Fields church near the square and will be on display to the public until 31 October.
