Elizabeth has been in touch to tell us of her latest mishap! During the bad weather a gritter ploughed into her telephone pole, which resulted in knocking out her phone and internet connection. She has now been without both for over 5 weeks. Liz wanted us to mention it on here in case any clubs or societies have been trying to contact her regarding future or forthcoming bookings.

Starting this month, Elizabeth Harrison is organising a series of charity concerts under the name of 'Preston Community Concerts'.
Following the sad news that the Top Note Organ Society in Leyland is to close, Elizabeth decided that it was important to keep music live in the Preston and Leyland areas. In aid of St Catherine's Hospice, on Monday 24th January 2011, 8pm start, Blackpool Tower Organist John Barnett will be performing at Midge Hall Methodist Church, Longmeanygate, Midge Hall, Leyland, PR26 6TD.

Sunday 9th January saw a tribute being made to Len Rawle to congratulate him on being awarded an M.B.E in the Queen's New Years Honours List.
Organised by Friends Of Rye leader, Richard Moore, the afternoon included a slide show with over 100 pictures and messages from artistes and organisers from all over the world offering their congratulations. Specially invited guests enjoyed a lovely afternoon alongside Len who knew nothing about it!

The Penistone Cinema Organ Trust is currently working on a new project to install the former Astoria, Purley, Compton organ in it's own premises. The premises will be the first dedicated Theatre Organ Heritage and Restoration centre.
Based on the outskirts of Barnsley only 1 mile or so from M1 junctions 37 and 38 the venture will provide an auditorium, containing the Compton, together with displays and items related to the history of the Cinema Organ in the UK.
