Further to our news item dated August 7th Penny has told us that due to circumstances outside her control, she will not now be appearing in the concert at the Worcester Festival on 28th August, which has been postponed by the theatre. She hopes the event will be rescheduled, and will supply details as and when this happens.

They are looking for a keyboard player who may like an opportunity to play in their band. The age group is from 40 to 60 years and they rehearse on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Penny Weedon will be appearing at the Worcester Festival on Friday 28th August at 8.00pm in the beautiful and historic Huntingdon Hall. She will be performing on the fine Nicholson pipe organ there, interspersed with items on her Yamaha ‘Travelling Light Orchestra’ and the Steinway Grand. Her programme will include favourites from around Europe, including Prelude to Act 3 from Lohengrin, Highlights from Grieg’s Piano Concerto, Debussy’s Reverie, A selection from Carmen, Holst’s Venus f... Organ Societies/Clubs are essentially businesses and as such the most successful ones are continually seeking means of publicity. The Weyhill Electronic Organ Society has recently come up with a fabulous idea and secured the co-operation of Test Valley Borough Council in having its name displayed in one of Andover's many floral gardens. Perhaps your club has other novel ideas that can be used to help!
