Hi
I am a new member of ORGANFAX.
I have always owned Yamaha instruments ,but my heart is with double manual organs. If the Ddeck were available in the UK I'm sure I would own one by now.I wait for the Tyros 4, hoping it is more modular to enable a better configuration between the two keyboards of my "twinset T3+NP30" (closer gap between keyboards and voice split lower keyboard availability)
Looking at the new website ,mentioned above, am very interested at the price of a new Wersi Verona.
I never wanted to spend so much money. However you only get what you pay for and it would have everything I wanted without having to change models every 2-3 years.Any advice ? Am I getting carried away?
Many thanks Colin

Unlikely anybody on this forum will carry you away ....
You say 'new' Verona - are these still being built or is it the stock carried over from the previous owner of Wersi? Believe the only new instrument will be the Pegasus Wing single keyboard being manufactured in the Far East and to be available in Europe and in the UK.
Believe the yamaha japan policy for the uk is to only distribute single keyboards (the Tyros 4) coming soon to a shop near you. Unlikely they will provide dedicated facilities for making the keyboard capable of turning it into a two manual organ.Posted 1 year ago # -
Hi JLow
Music Store (The owners of the Wersi brand name) have recently authorised the production of the Verona and Scala models, and they will be built to order in Germany.
The prices are also significantly cheaper than when Wersi were producing them. (As Music Store is one of the biggest music retailers in Europe, they know about realistic pricing)

Hi Colin
Since Music Store bought the Wersi brand name, they have never been so competitively priced. The heart of a Wersi is a standard PC computer, and thus can easily be upgraded. (The rest of the hardware (Interface boards etc.) does not normally need to be changed)
The OAS software can also be upgraded like on any computer, thus making the changing of instruments just to get new features irrelevant. (Other manufactures have a more limited upgrade potential)
3 more advantages of the Wersi Verona are:
1. You can load Akai sample sounds, thus you are not restricted to the voices that Wersi provide
2. You can load VSTi instruments (These are what Pro studios and film makers’ use) to also expand the number of voices. (Many excellent ones are available for free (Do a Google for Kontakt samples)
3. They now natively support Yamaha style files, thus giving you access to an unbelievable amount of stylesAnother option is to look around (Include dealers) for a used Verona, (They do occasionally come up) as they will be cheaper and can easily be upgraded to the latest spec. (Even the 1st ones produced in 2000 can be upgraded to the latest spec, although most probably already have)
Finally don’t dismiss other manufacture products, as there are some cracking organs out there, from the likes of Roland, Lowrey, Bohm, Orla etc., and while they are not as future proof as a Wersi Verona, (Or able to use 3rd party voices) may give you all that you require for a number of years.
I hope the above helps with your decision
RegardsBill

From the 3 advantages you outlined above Bill, Wersi does seem to be steaming ahead in the technology department compared to other organ manufacturers. Very interesting indeed.
Perhaps one day I will succumb to the lure of Wersi myself :-)
