I have a Tyros 1 that I have owned since its original release. I use the output jack sockets on the rear at home and when out and about. Both left and right channels have become a bit "scratchy" over the last few months to the point where now the right channel has no output at all. I have replaced the jack leads with a quality brand to no avail. Wiggling the leads around does intermittently transmit the signal so I know it is the jack socket and nothing more sinister.
The big question..... Has anyone had a similar problem and if so is it relatively straightforward to replace the jack sockets on the back? I am fairly competant regarding gaining methodical access to electronic equipment. However, are the jack sockets something that could be replaced by someone with an average knowledge of components and fairly skilled with a soldering iron. I suspect the most difficult part of the task is going to be gaining good working access to the board anyway.
I know the Tyros is getting on a little but I wasnt intending to use it as a doorstop for a while yet! Any ideas anyone??
