Sad to report that Raymond Wallbank passed away this week at the age of 77
Raymond was legendary as the summer season organist in the Sun Lounge at the end of North Pier, Blackpool for around 30 (we think). He also ran a very successful organ showroom and music teaching studio in St. Annes as well as the organising the Raymond Wallbank Organ Society before his retirement.
Raymond had been suffering from ill-health for some years.
The funeral will be held at St. Cuthberts Parish Church, Lytham on Thursday 25th February at 1.30pm
This information was passed to me by Peter Jebson who also asked me to include it on Organfax

Very sad news about Raymond - he was a true Gent and quite a character. His lovely music and humour will surely live on in spirit. I once remember him stopping me in the middle of a medley to make an important announcement about someone leaving their car lights on, only to suddenly realise that it was in fact his own car!! Almost Tommy Cooper humour!

A great guy and an honour to have known......

    Thanks, Stephen for the information.
